New Resources to Help Children Learn About St. Patrick's Feast Day

New fun printable resources to help children learn about St. Patrick of Ireland.

Saint study is such a great way to study geography, history, facts of the Faith and so much more.  It is also a nice way to add spice to your learning day with some different fun but educational activities.  We are happy to share some brand new resources we have just created to help the kiddos learn all about St. Patrick of Ireland.  These colourful, fun printables are sure to appeal to even the most fickle learners as there is a nice selection of freebies from which to choose.  Here are just a few of the resources we have to share:

A new twelve page notebooking page set can be used by learners of all ages to help focus either on St. Patrick himself or his lesson on the Holy Trinity.  There are three different layouts and four line spacing options.

Our very popular printable saint trading card collection now includes this famous saint (pictured above).  As usual, there are four cards per page which make them perfect for individual, family, or classroom use.  And if you are looking for a game suitable for up to 15 people that includes St. Patrick, then download our Catholic Bingo game which teaches many basics of the Faith while having lots of fun.  This is a great game for a St. Patrick's Day party, if you are having one.

Looking for a quick mini-book to add to your project, current folder project or notebook?  Try our My Book Mini-book on St. Patrick complete with writing prompts.  You can also find a mini-book for the Holy Trinity both with and without writing prompts.

And speaking of the Holy Trinity, don't forget our F3 lesson all about the Holy Trinity which we posted from our own CCD class earlier in the school year.  There is also quite a bit of other copywork and printables about the Holy Trinity right on the lesson page as well.  If you are looking for a science link, try our F3 lesson on the Trinity using the three states of water.  This too was an earlier post this year.  These two lessons are always fun to do with the children.

To make everything easy and convenient for busy homeschoolers and catechists, we have put all of our St. Patrick resources on one page.  Don't forget that St. Joseph's feast day is this week too!

Let's Get Ready to Celebrate the Feast Day of St. Nicholas with New Saint Trading Cards, Learning Cards, Notebooking Sheets, Audio Learning and More

Fun printables help us mark December 6th as the feast Day of St. Nicholas

Today we offer quite a few printable resources to help children learn about one of the most famous and beloved saints of all time, St. Nicholas.  We thought that we would share our new St. Nicholas printables a few days early to help you plan for your special day on the 6th of December.  Many will share little gifts, some will put out socks, boots or shoes for surprises, while others will simply spend the day learning about this saint in fun ways.  We hope our four offerings will help make your St. Nicholas celebration fun and enjoyable.

Our offerings today can be used with your favourite saint books, learning resources, videos or websites.  We try to create learning materials that can be used with what you already have on hand or can easily access without the need to spend more money.  So here we go:

1.  Read your favourite St. Nicholas story book or listen now to the story of St. Nicholas from our book study of In God's Garden by Amy Steedman.  After enjoying your stories, you may want to write a bit about him using one of our set of 12 notebooking sheets.  This set comes in four different line spacings with options to affix pictures or draw in your own.  This set accommodates learners of all levels.

We hope that these resources help to make your day special and joy filled.

Our moment of thought today is inspired by the life of St. Nicholas:

"Why did you give us the gold?" the father asked.
"Because you needed it," Nicholas answered.
"But why didn't you let us know who you were?" the man asked again.
"Because it's good to give and have only God know about it."

-Christmas Prayers and Customs, Regina Press, Edited by Rev. Victor Hoagland, C.P.

Do you know another homeschooling family or teacher who could use our FREE resources?  Why not drop them a line and invite them to come over for our daily December goodies?  Your thoughtfulness might be just what they need today! :)

New Saint Trading Cards Are Now Available

New saint trading cards feature four modern saints.

As we finally get into the swing of things this week, we offer new printable trading cards featuring some modern saints.  We generally just make things that our family will use when we get inspired to do so or in our own timing but we got a beautiful request that we just couldn't resist.  A very nice Catholic mum e-mailed us asking if we would consider making some saint cards that highlighted more modern saints and blessed that could be used for Halloween trick or treats, church actives and All Saints' Day parties too, we might add.  These are great to reinforce information and lessons for Catholic but they can also be a solid evangilization tool as well.

Today we offer four new printable saint trading collector card sheets featuring: St. Padre Pio, Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and St. Maria Goretti.

These cards come four to a page and are easy to make.  Simply print out, cut apart, fold in half, and glue together.  We always laminate our cards for longevity.  We also punch a hole in them to affix them to a ring like pictured below.  These cards are also perfect CCD classes, classrooms or even just for jobs well done.  Our children love collecting these!

Printable St. Francis Trading Card
Here are some learning goodies to help you learn about and celebrate St. Francis of Assisi's Feast Day.

St. Francis of Assisi is perhaps one of the most popular and well known saints in the world.  There is so much to tell about this holy hero of the past.  Many remember him for his association and gentleness with animals others recall the wonderful prayer of St. Francis which tells us specifically how to be better Christians, but I remember that St. Francis is the one responsible for the nativity scene as we know it today.  We offer these resources to help inspire young Catholics to learn more about this wonderful, beloved saint.

From our book study on In God's Garden by Amy Steedman, read and print a story about St. Francis of Assisi Here.  Listen to that story read Here.

Printable Prayer Page
This two per page prayer sheet colourfully displays the prayer of St. Francis in an easy to read and inviting way.  This would make great copywork too.  Find this and other printable prayer sheets at this link.
